The end of the American Century

With the launch of the last Space Shuttle mission this morning the United States has given up the future. Thanks to the Luddite Republican idiots combined with those who should have been “shot in the face” rather than “ran for office” (William Proxmire D, Wisconsin) we have sacrificed the future to make sure we have cash for welfare and faith-based charities.

If you vote a party line, you are also one of those who killed my country, and I wish you only the worst.

To the inheritors of space and the future, the citizens of China and India, I hope you are smarter about not giving up the future for the present. Based on your self-serving leadership and lack of humanity/archaic caste based systems I suspect you will do far worse. I do have hope though!

The stupid woman who killed her daughter and dumped the body in her trunk

I am not going to repeat her name, but we have all been bombarded by the press, and especially CNN who has gone to 24/7 coverage of a trial about 1 little kid and her murderous mom. I could care less, we have THREE PLUS WARS, the economy is in shambles and NOT A SINGLE MOVE HAS BEEN MADE TO FIX IT, my hometown leads the nation in murder and arson even though the cops there lie about the numbers. Half the idiots keep trying to make us a theocracy, and the other half cannot spell theocracy or define it.

Why CNN? Why make me unsub from your newsletter, could it be I am sick of 17 days of one trial being all your headlines? Robin Meade in the morning used to be a fun source of news and now I hope she just goes away. Could you report the NEWS again? Someone fire Nancy Grace so the network goes back to being something other than a left leaning Fox News.

Conservatives show themselves as cowards and children.

Those who know me are aware that I have no positive opinion of either the far left or right. Both sides hurt this country daily in the pursuit of what they want rather than what is good for the citizens and the future.

Today I want to award my first Cowardly-Bitch-of-the-Month to Dan Collins of the Conservative Blogging Press!

While I am sure we need to counter the liberal-blogging-idiots I am not sure that he is the person to be doing the work. Recently my wife, a very talented artist and successful writer received the following email;

“Hi, Stacy,
I’m combining with another writer/editor to put up a commercial website offering services such as copywriting, image production, photography, sound production, voice over, video and related.  I don’t know what your politics are, and I don’t much care, but I should let you know that this will be a site for conservatives to source expertise from people who have similar values.  People will be able to vend their books, CDs, etc., promote their mom and pop businesses, there will be classifieds.

At any rate, that gives you a little insight into the business model.  There are a lot of people who blog as conservatives who dare not use their real names, because they’re afraid of repercussions in the mostly creative fields that they’re employed in.

Just so you know.  What I mean to say is, I find your images stunning. We’re seeking a kind of Art Deco look and field for the site, and some of your images appear to be futuristic versions of that past futurism.  I think that we’ll be able to get a lot of eyeballs for your outstanding work.  I think we might also be able to use you as a columnist (on image creation, not politics).  Please contact me if you have an interest.  <NUMBER REDACTED, No reason to call the wussy and taunt him!>
Thanks very much,  Dan Collins

I find it stunning that people of African-American descent were not afraid to use their real names when they stood up for themselves, gay people use their real names, women used their real names, and those who are MOST AGAINST CIVIL RIGHTS ARE AFRAID.

She and I talked about this, and she replied to him;

No, thank you. I find it difficult to comprehend how conservatives feel so oppressed in this land of freedom that they would feel compelled to write under pseudonyms. There’s something to be said about standing behind what you say in this day and age of mass-information.  As defenders of our Constitution, we should not only protect, but employ our freedoms regarding press and religion. It is my personal belief that everyone should own his/her words, lest they be accused of spreading misinformation, lies or propaganda. It is my opinion that your business model presents a clear misuse of the anonymity the Internet provides, presenting a threat to those writers who report real news as well as the general readership, who deserve the facts. In my own effort to live my life according to these freedoms under the law, I adhere to certain standards and therefore, must decline.

Aside from my art, I already have a rewarding full time job so I am not looking for another. Thank you for taking the time to peruse the art galleries on my site. There are several fractal artists out there, if you do a search, maybe you can find another who is not so liberal as I.

All the best, Stacy Reed

Okay, so my wife responds nicely and tells this child who may perhaps be male, but is most certainly not a MAN that she has no interest in his silly tripe. I will be watching that he does not steal her work, we already have to deal with christian websites stealing it daily now. Now, let us talk about his response.

Stacy,

Thanks for your response.  I understand that Flint is virtually a
garden paradise given the many years of liberal government there and
in the state as a whole.

People everywhere gravitate to whatever resources best fit their
understanding of reality.  There is nothing particularly objective
about CNN or MSNBC.  Where I or anyone else chooses to source their
news and information should be a matter of no concern to anybody else,
in my opinion.

My business model is no different from that of, for example,
Progressive insurance and the causes and candidates whom they choose
to fund, or the companies that advertise in the pages of Harper’s or
Mother Jones.  If you believe that it is dangerous, presumably you
believe that Cass Sunstein is correct in stating that the government
ought to police, for example, wacko conspiracy theories online.  The
problem is, the government, conservative or liberal, will interpret
those things according to its own convenience, and sometimes . . . as
for instance with Watergate . . . crazy conspiracy theories turn out
to be true.

Some of my good online friends work in Hollywood and other places
where conservatives are subject to blacklisting.  For that matter,
think of the businesses you may have patronized or boycotted for their
policies and practices.

All of that said, I think you have oodles of talent, and wish you the
best, and admire you for sticking to your guns, no matter how
misguided I may think you are.

Best regards,
Dan

Let us examine this one paragraph at a time, first he attacks my home town, and while he is right that it is a complete hell hole (Number One in Murder and Arson!) that can be equally blamed on BOTH parties. Flint has its problems rooted in the fact that the UAW stood for “Us Ain’t Working” and that GM became a “corporate citizen” and was legally bound to raise stock prices instead of being a smart company, the politicians of EVERY party failed to plan. Since Dan Collins, like another fat white guy named Michael Moore is not from Flint, I recommend that both their fat white asses shut up.

He says that people gravitate towards resources that fit their reality so he provides it. I find it amusing since that is the SAME LOGIC USED BY HEROIN DEALERS.

He rambles about his conspiracy theories because those require the same level of ignorant faith as religion and it is easy to mislead the ignorant. Then he whines about people in Hollywood being blacklisted for their conservative opinions! Has this stupid loser never heard of a time Hollywood actually HAD a blacklist? Does he think Mel Gibson should be allowed to keep making movies if he wants to scream about killing jews?

He admits she has talent, then calls her misguided. Oh! What a sad state of mental affairs he suffers. She is enlightened and he is a boorish oaf with the intellectual capacity of a turnip.

I am not some namby-pamby liberal whining about his ignorance, I am a SOLDIER. I can kill cowards from 300 meters with an unmoded M16A1 forty times in forty all day long. I am not some hothouse intellectual pointing out that Dan’s entire world view is sad and misguided, I am someone noticing that the far left and far right are alike in the same way that country and rap are connected through their joint celebration of booze, drugs, vehicles and degrading women. I am not some ineffective leftist, I am a killer. I feel that Dan Collins does not have the intestinal fortitude to be a conservative, a soldier, or a man.

My name is Michael Reed and I say, “Fuck you very much Dan Collins, and you should not contact human beings.”

Birther = Racist

I find it amusing that the leading members of the Birther/KKK party are Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, and Orly Taitz.  A stupid wench who raises whores, a born rich kid who has bankrupted himself four times over, a fat druggie, and someone lacking any command of the English language or ability to read.

This video says it all about the birthers and their ignorance. I am going to start slapping anyone who talks of this subject as being valid.

Tina Fey Rocks, Anna Holmes who?

Anna Holmes, the self-important, self-centered whiny little troll who founded Jezebel.com (note her bragging about it in the article) has decided that Tina Fey makes her genitals itch in a bad way. She has used her blog platform to attack Tina Fey for not living up to a set of ideals that Anna has never lived up to, and she whines about Tina not doing what Anna herself has failed to do. I have to wonder at the level of spite and jealousy involved, does Anna have a boyfriend that makes her dress up as Tina in bed?

I am a person inclined to rant, Anna Holmes is a person inclined to whine. Hate on Anna, Tina Fey owns you. Just like she owns my heart and my funny bone.

Tina Fey may be the most admired woman in show business. If only she would act the part

Clearly Redundant: Christian Idiot

Since the idiots in Florida think they can burn holy books for other mythologies I want to announce I am burning 10 bibles for every Koran the rednecks burn. I took the paragraph below in whole from Allvoices.com since they had stated it so clearly.

Blame Terry Jones, they say, mustachioed head of a 50-member nondenominational charismatic Christian church in Gainesville, Florida. On Sunday, March 20, 2011, Pastor Jones staged a six-hour International Judge the Qur’an Day at his Dove World Outreach Center. Showpiece of this sparsely attended event was a trial of the Qur’an. By unanimous verdict of a multiracial jury of 3 men and 9 women, the Qur’an was found guilty of causing murder, rape and terrorism. Pastor Jones thereupon set the book on fire, remarking that “it actually burns very good.”

People have died over his mythology fueled ignorance and I call for his arrest on the charges of incitement to riot and failure to remain human. I pray to the god of Oral Roberts that Terry Jones be struck by a large car and that he dies slowly and painfully in a rain-filled ditch.

Fuck you Japan! (Update 2)

Thanks to incredible incompetence the country of Japan has ensured that unless we start killing dumb people at birth we will NOT get the nuclear power plants we need to start lessening our dependence on oil.

Their lack of serious planning, lack of capabilities to deal with problems, and the incessant greed that causes such decision process failures is on par with BP. The worst part is that since nuclear power plants are subsidized by the government they had the option to require adequate preparations. I realize the costs to protect facilities against a 9.0 earthquake and a resultant tsunami would be prohibitive, which is why they did not try on that level.  The failure comes from their lack of contingency planning and I wish they held to the old honor code, because if they did there would be several hundred sets of guts spilled on the floor of homes all over Japan.

Even worse is the Fox-Newsian people on the left who paint all nuclear energy with the same brush. You cannot be left-wing and against nuclear energy, there is simply no factual justification for it, so I hear the left ignoring reality and moving forward demanding we stop using nuclear plants. They sound just like the far right to me, ignoring reality and imposing their ignorant internal values on the world.

If the choice is between an all-controlling-religious-nut right and an all-controlling-self-righteous-nut left I opt to that we execute both.

A day after I called it, we are seeing stories that talk about the failures related to greed that led to this problem. Reports: Lax oversight greed preceded Japan nuclear crisis

The “GE Threeobjected to the Fukushima plant design over 35 years ago, they objected so much that they resigned from GE and joined anti-nuke protesters. Interestingly enough, the objection was over the issue now causing the problems.

Adapted a pro-union joke to fit reality…

A dozen cookies are put down in front of a CEO, a Tea Partier, a union president and a hard-working citizen.

The CEO grabs 10 then says to the Tea Partier, “That union guy wants your cookies”.

The Tea Partier grabs up a cookie and tells the union president, “I need this cookie to keep out foreigners and promote christianity! Watch out, that worker wants the last cookie!”

The Union President grabs the last cookie and says, “Hey, hard-working citizen, it is a shame the poor took your cookie for welfare.”

Never, EVER, Rent from Budget!

If you want to make your move, car rental, or your life in general as hard as possible I would recommend Budget Car/Truck Rental. If you want a smooth experience, decent customer service and fair rates you should NEVER USE Budget.

Let me tell you why! Last Monday I was looking for rental vehicles to facilitate a move for my family, we only needed a small truck as we were moving only .9 miles by vehicle, and half a mile as the crow flies. The company I work for has a negotiated discount with Budget, so I decided to use their service as it was comparable to others.

I booked my 10 foot truck, gave them my info, printed my confirmation/reservation and forgot about it until Wednesday when I got a call telling me they would not have a ten foot truck available at the location I had selected. This poises our first question, “Why does their reservation system show some vehicles as being available and others as not being when there is zero accuracy in that data?”

The agent that called me was apologetic and offered to upgrade us to the next larger vehicle with the caveat we would have to pick it up from a different location. I mentioned that it would require 20 miles of additional driving and since that class of vehicle is a flat rate plus mileage it would impact my cost and he adjusted it to include those extra miles for free, and gave me an extra 5 miles free to cover the gas difference. At this point, other than a bit of bother the customer service appeared excellent and I gave them glowing reviews.

I called on Friday afternoon to re-verify my rental as their site had recommended doing so, and I was informed that Jarred their inventory manager in the area would have the vehicle where I needed it, and at the time I needed it.

Jarred is a liar.

I then called the Budget location at 10am on Sunday as my appointment was at 1030 to pick up the truck, and I was in the middle of a move. The young man working that location told me that it was available and would be there. I drove to the location and listened to the two people in line in front of me be told that none of their vehicles were available and there was nothing Budget could do because their terms and conditions never actually promise to do ANYTHING. Question number two, “Why have a reservation system when you have no intent of honoring it, unless you get lucky and manage to honor it?” I will admit to smirking a little as the people in front of me grew angry because I had had MY truck verified four different times, first by the website, then the northeast rep for Budget, by their inventory manager locally (via the store rep), and by the store rep that morning.

I get to the front of the line, present my reservation number and thought, “I should let my wife go now, and I will follow!” I am most certainly glad I did not, as the SAME EXACT BUDGET EMPLOYEE behind the counter who had verified it for me 30 minutes prior was now telling me that no truck was available.

Okay, so why make reservations with Budget, and even more, why ever use Budget?

I called their customer service number and spoke with a rep; he put me on hold and called the same guy in front of me who had already lied to me. The rep came back on the line and told me that my only option was to pick up a vehicle NINETY FOUR MILES AWAY, not round trip 94 miles, but a 188 mile round trip on a day I was moving. He told me that the local inventory manager had previously said that a vehicle would be ready, which indicates the local inventory manager really needs a new career, perhaps sweeping floors.

Third question: “Does Budget strive to hire idiots, or are their policies really that inept?”

I pointed out that taking three hours to get the vehicle to even start moving was silly, and that I would have to pay for 94 miles of travel in a 15 foot truck, and 188 miles of travel in my own car, and in return he said, “I will give you a 25% discount!”

I was appalled; did he really think 10 bucks was going to cover over 45 bucks in fuel costs and three hours of time from my wife and I?

I stayed calm, but at this point he started to tell me that since their terms and conditions do not actually promise ANYTHING, he could not do anything else. I asked if he could, with a week notice, ensure I would have a vehicle the following weekend, and he repeated the corporate line that their terms and conditions do not actually promise ANYTHING.

Still calm, I informed him I would never use Budget as a service again, and I would inform other consumers of the issue so that they are not left in the same position. All of their employees told me the same thing, this happens more often than it does not, and their customer rep actually tried to tell me that they have millions of cars but only 80k of trucks so it was difficult. “Why do they make reservations they KNOW they cannot support in advance?”

I got on my phone, did a U-Haul reservation, drove to a convenient location and picked it up. I am out 90 minutes (times two with my wife), an additional 30 bucks in costs, and my move started two hours late. I was moving until 11pm as a result and literally ran out of help and energy thanks to the long day. So, now I face getting another vehicle to finish the last few items, and that puts me another 50-75 bucks out of pocket. Renting a vehicle from Budget ensures that you will pay over 100 extra dollars, never get a vehicle from them and waste your time hassling with them.

Please, please, please NEVER USE BUDGET RENTAL FOR ANY OF YOUR NEEDS. Keep in mind my questions about Budget.

“Why does their reservation system show some vehicles as being available and others as not being when there is zero accuracy in that data?”

“Why have reservation systems when you have no intent of honoring it, unless you get lucky?”

“Does Budget strive to hire idiots, or are their policies really that inept?”

“Why do they make reservations they KNOW they cannot support in advance?”

A complete guide to the Motorola Atrix, a phone + laptop.

If Santa existed, I would write and ask for two of these, one for myself and one for my lovely wife Stacy. It may be a bit of a kludge, but a luvverly one! (Yes that was an intended Beatleian use of luvverly!)
